My husband, Rex, is my biggest fan, my best supporter, dog sitter and pooper scooper. Without
him none of this would be possible. I was born in England a few (many) years ago, and my parents showed standard long coat
Dachshunds while I was still a baby, so I guess showing dogs is in my genes. It wasn't until Rex and I were married and
moved to the USA that I became interested in the sport. With Rex being active duty Air Force, there was always the thought
of re-location so I could only keep as many dogs as I was prepared to ship overseas. Luckily it never happened and now Rex
is retired from active duty and we are settled here in North Texas. While I was waiting to be a Pap owner, Flo Doty, of 'VonSchaums' Boxers, my mentor, took me under her wing.
While traveling in her RV to the dogs shows, I learnt my 'ring craft'. Never was I so happy to poop scoop the x-pens
and hold dogs at ringside!! She taught me what not to wear, what not to say and what not to do! I soaked it all up like a
sponge. This year, (2007) she is 90 years young and still has 4 boxers at the house. She is still my best friend and
my 'other' Mom.
In 1990 I finally got my
first Pap after a 3 year wait. Paige became a Dam of Merit producing 4 Champions out of 2 litters. One of her Granddaughters,
Pisces Primrose, at 17 months old, went Winners Bitch over 99 others bitch entries at the 2001 PCA Nationals.
In 2002, I concluded that I could not get to where I wanted
to be with the bloodlines that I had, so I made a resolve to change my direction and bloodlines. I had always admired the
'Envy' Papillons produced by Ruth Ann Ramsey, she is now married to Danny Ford II, and the two kennels
have joined to become 'Forevr' Papillons. So I put myself on the waiting list for a male. In 2003, Gina Gilmore of 'Jaztyme'
Papillons contacted me by way of Ruth Ann, with a lovely bitch for sale. Belle was to become my new foundation bitch. Another 3
years later and I have the dog I waited for from Ruth Ann, Forevr James Cagney. He is all, and more, that I was looking
for, and well worth the wait. I am looking forward to getting him out to the shows.
